    State of Montana Department of Insurance Requirements
    • Licensees are required to complete 24 hours every 2 years with 1 Hour Montana Insurance Rules/Regulations.
    • License lapse/renew by dates, based on the 1st day of birth month in an odd- or even- numbered year.
    • Expiration dates are based on the licensees birth month and birth year.
    • Exams must be monitored by a disinterested third party.
    • Courses are repeatable every 2 years.
    • Licensees cannot carry over any excess credits to the next renewal period.
    • Course rosters are sent to the State by course provider.
    • If a licensee fails to complete continuing education, the license will be suspended and lapsed. The licensee will have to pay $100 per license type to reinstate.

    • Exam must be proctored by a disinterested third party
    • Proctor must be present during entire length of final exam
    • After completing and submitting exam online, a downloadable version of the Affidavit for Test Administrator form must be printed out from the computer which the exam was taken and signed by the proctor.

    • Upon receipt of the Affidavit, you will be given access to print out the certificate of completion for the course that was succesfully completed.
